A Lithium Recovery Company, Ensuring a Circular Domestic Supply Chain for Critical Minerals
R3 Lithium operates North America's first and largest commercial-scale facility producing lithium carbonate from 100% recovered lithium-rich battery materials. Located in Covington, Georgia, our facility recovers, refines, and returns critical minerals to the domestic battery supply chain.
Recover
We recover lithium-rich battery materials and upgrade them into products for the market. We have the capability to process up to 30,000 metric tons of battery materials through our shredding lines, producing black mass, the concentrated material from which critical minerals are extracted.

Why R3 Lithium?
Current Market
The United States and Europe import the majority of their lithium. The U.S. produces less than one percent of the world’s lithium and Europe effectively none. Similarly, 85% to 95% of battery cell and component production capacity sits outside U.S. and European borders. While U.S. federal policy is directing substantial resources toward changing that reality, new mines take ten years or more to permit, develop, and bring into production.

Why R3 Lithium?
Our Advantage
R3 Lithium offers a better alternative. Our facility in Covington, Georgia produces lithium carbonate from batteries already in circulation, on a shorter timeline, at a fraction of the cost.
